Teaching children money
Ways of teaching:
1. Explain children where money is taken from. It is very easy. Take a sheet of paper, picture a sum you earn, then subtract everything you have to give in the form of taxes, pay for apartment etc., and show what is left for you, what you can spend. Then subtract a sum you spend on foods and show what is left for toys, cloth etc. Now your child can see why you cannot buy him this or that expensive toy and in general everything he wants.
2. Determine quantity of pocket money you give your child. This can be done in a somehow original way. Give him a sum of money a week, equivalent to his age. For example, 7$. This quantity should be regular, later you can give him more money, as encouragement for something.
3. Show how pocket money should work. Tell a child about ways of spending earned money. For example, one can save 1/3 or 2/3 for some big purchases or future purpose, maybe education. Thus, a child will learn distinguishing important gains from trifling ones. He won’t be able learning this, in case you decide what to buy instead of him.
4. Forget about sops. No matter how cruel it may sound, you should stop buying toys, computer games, CD, DVD (in general, various luxuries) to your child, as soon as you started giving him pocket money. Here we have several pitfalls. Firstly, you should give your child enough money to save up for a desired thing. Secondly, there should be a clear differentiation between luxuries and necessary things in your family. Adults also should keep this rule.
5. Teaching responsibility. You can teach a child responsibility during cleaning or any other variant you choose yourself. Several variants are better, then a child has a chance to choose. If you are orderly persons, you can choose following model. If a child forgot putting away something (toy, CD, sweater etc.), you put it in a special parental basket where it should be kept for about 3 days, as a fine. If a child needs this thing a lot, he can take it earlier, redeeming it for a token payment from his pocket money. Nevertheless, realization that you should spend your personal expenses to correct results of your inaccuracy teaches a child responsibility.
Next time he will think about his actions. However, we accentuate your attention, if you are inaccurate parents, then teaching child tidiness would be cruel and unfair. However, there is a way out from this situation too. You can accustom yourselves to tidiness all together. I.e. a child redeems his things from you and you redeem yours from him.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie: silent parting
At a film festival Madonna represented a documentary film about African orphans. Her husband accompanied her, though it seemed he received no pleasure from it.
According to the singer, she got tired of constant disputes with her husband practically at the slightest pretext. She does not like the fact Guy spends not enough time with her and their children - 2-year-old adopted son David Banda, 11-year-old Lurdes, daughter of Madonna and dancer Carlos Leon, and their own 7-year-old son Rokko.
As it is informed, from the beginning of this year Madonna and Guy live separately. To meet as seldom as possible, they even divided their houses into “his” and “her” zones. And now the singer intends moving from Great Britain to New York.
A couple decided not to declare their separation officially. Madonna is going to make the world tour soon, and a new Guy Ritchie’s movie «RocknRolla» premiere will take place in October. The announcement of separation would affect their images negatively, therefore they imitate a visibility of an amicable family on public, Daily Mail informs.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie love code
A love code - a special technics which returns former affinity in relations of spouses. They should look at each other every other minute, touch each other and tell the first words-compliments that come to mind. Madonna and Guy tested this technics last week on Guy’s new film premier «RocknRolla».
They recollected everything they liked in each other, and stated it aloud. Such practice strengthens feelings of spouses and gives them a chance to feel some intimate affinity, at other people’s presence.
Besides, according to Madonna and her husband, this is a very sexual employment.
Nobility is descendible
Genetic examination showed that people having a certain variety of AVPR1a gene gave on average 50% more money, than rest people.
The research leader explained: “This experiment showed that there is a direct dependence between DNA mixture and human altruism”.
AVPR1a gene directs arginine-vasopressin hormone, which affect brain cells. Vasopressin is responsible for human social activity. Scientists discovered that the longer ) AVPR1a promoter (a part of gene, determining its activity) is, the more generous a person is.

Family travel: ideas
First of all, vacation should be fun and enjoyable. Therefore, the place where the family wants to go should be agreed by those who will join, taking into consideration the infants and old members of the family who will be participating, whether this is a beach resort or an inland resort or going for a site seeing vacation in some cities or countries abroad. It would also be fun if the family would have a planned activity so that everyone will have to participate and would be able to let each member have some interaction be it a game or any fun activity.
Although many families like to vacation in the heat of the summer, there are some families where cool vacation destinations are key. The following will provide some ideas for families who like to go away on vacation during the summer but keep cool while doing so. Everyone knows that the further north you go, the colder it gets. Take this train of thought and apply it to your vacation. Head up north in the Summer months and many destinations will feel breezy and cool. The further north you go, you might even see some snow. Even though one usually thinks of beaches involving hot summer sand and warm water. There are many beach destinations where it is cool both during the day and night.
When traveling with kids, most parents view safety as one of the most important components of the trip. Although there are too many safe places to mention in one list, there are features to search for when choosing a vacation destination in order to help ensure that the spot you are choosing is a safe place to travel. Safety also revolves around health issues. A place which has a low outbreak of serious illnesses or none whatsoever is the best place to choose. A location which has a stable social and political setting is a safe one for children to travel to with their parents.
The duration of your vacation should also be taken into account. However, some travel agency maybe of help on matters concerning vacation. They maybe able to suggest budget, transportation, and hotel or resort accommodation. And it would be much less taxing for the family to hire somebody to guide them to their destinations.
Before you even leave the house, it’s a good idea to prepare your kids for the trip. If they are old enough to read, give them books about the area you are traveling to. If not, read to them and show them pictures of the places they will see. If you are traveling to a foreign country, introduce them to the food they will taste at home before you go to help ease the culture shock upon your arrival.
While in flight, make sure children are comfortable and occupied. Prepare them for the experience by describing what they can expect to feel (turbulence, ear-popping, etc.) and let them know that it is normal.
All in all vacation is an opportunity for the family to be closer together, to foster a happy memory, and an event a family should look forward in doing again!
Traveling With Pets
Whether you have a dog or other household pet, there’s much more to keeping your furry friend safe and happy than just opening the passenger door. Here are tips to make your long road trip — or even your Sunday drive — problem-free.
Here are a few things to consider when traveling with your pet:
1. Temperament - Make certain that your four-legged pal enjoys traveling before taking him on a long trip. Take time during the weeks leading up to your vacation to take him on several short trips so that he will be more accustomed to the sights, smells and sensations of riding in a car. If your pet is aggressive, ill-mannered or simply terrified of traveling, you may want to consider a qualified pet sitter or reputable boarding facility.
2. Pack — and plan — for your pet. Just like you, pets like the comforts of home: their own bedding, toys, brush, even their own dishes. Bring them with you if possible. Pack a bowl for his water, treats, a first-aid kit, medications (both oral and topical), and a copy of his medical records. Most important, though, bring your pet’s own food. Trust me; this is not the time to get experimental with your pet’s digestive tract. (If you’ve ever changed your dog’s food all of a sudden, you know what I mean.)
3. Before a road trip is a good time to take your pet for that overdue visit to the veterinarian. Beyond ensuring your pet’s health, it’s the only way to get a bona fide health certificate. That certificate — and proof of an updated rabies vaccine — is necessary if you board your pet at your destination.
4. Accommodations - As more people take to traveling with pets, more and more hotels are catering to pet travelers. By using the search term “pet-friendly” in your query, you will receive a wealth of information about pet-friendly accommodations and destinations, RV parks, dog parks, beaches and campgrounds. Pet barriers — which merely separate your pet from the rear of the seat — don’t do much to protect animals. Pet carriers, however, do. Carriers are essentially boxes made to confine and secure your animal. They come in different shapes, sizes and materials, but all should be well ventilated and have a secure door and latch. They should be large enough so your animal can sit and lie down.
5. Safety - When traveling with pets it is important to ensure their safety and not to do anything that could put them in danger. Always have your dog or cat on a leash and never allow a pet to roam freely in the vehicle, as it could get tangled around the driver’s feet or get in the driver’s sight of the road. Always crate your dog or cat in a sturdy, well-ventilated carrier big enough for them to stand up and turn around in comfortably. It’s a good idea to get them used to the crate a few weeks prior to departing. Also be sure to have collars and I.D. tags for your pets in the event that they become separated from you. Investing in a microchip may also be something to consider if your pet has a tendency to get loose.
6. Some people get car sick; so do some animals. If this sounds like your pet, give him a light meal a few hours before you leave and feed him minimally during the drive. Offer him small amounts of water periodically in the hours before the trip. If you can, take along ice cubes, which are easier on your pet than gulping down large amounts of water. (They’ll also keep him busy.) If your dog isn’t accustomed to car travel or to a carrier, break him in gradually, well in advance of the trip, by taking short trips and using lots of praise.
7. Take frequent breaks. A dog’s legs need to be stretched just like yours do — perhaps twice as much. Your pet also needs water, exercise and potty breaks at regular intervals. Having your dog lie beneath the café table while you eat lunch is not exercise, so be sure to take Fido once around the block before jumping back in the car. Taking time for your pet may also help you to take in some interesting sights along your trip.
Preparing in advance for traveling with pets and keeping its best interests in mind on the road will help make it an enjoyable trip for everyone.
Pets are definitely an important part of the family. In order to include them during your next trip or family vacation and make the experience enjoyable for all, be sure to take the time to plan and prepare for their travels.
